CONFIGURATION

Submit / Join

Here we consider the restrictions that can be placed on Members who intend to join Teams or place one or more of their Supplier accounts on a Yellow Page.

General Settings

  • submission_editing_thing_menu_size
    Example: 10
When a Member intends to edit a Thing, and a page of Things owned by the Member is displayed so that they may select a Thing for editing, what is the maximum number of Things that can appear on a single page?

Member Signups

  • permitted_team_placements
    Example: Yes
Toggle this parameter to "Yes" if you wish for Members to be able to enroll themselves into any Team that is NOT by Invitation Only. Otherwise the population of Teams must be performed manually by either you or a Team Editor with permission to modify a Team.
  • permitted_team_per_member
    Example: 3
For those Members who have permission to enroll in a Team (permission for an individual can be denied from the User table--see the can_populate column), this variable represents the maximum number of Teams an individual can enroll in.
  • required_password_uppercase
    Example: No
Should Review Foundry members be required to use at least one UPPERCASE character in their passwords when they sign up? Doing so can force more secure passwords but discourage users from using your site...
  • required_password_digit
    Example: No
Should Review Foundry members be required to use at least one digit in their passwords when they sign up? Doing so can force more secure passwords but discourage users from using your site...

Item Submissions / Category Placements

  • submission_item_names_unique

  • Example: Yes
If you wish to ensure that NO newly submitted Items duplicate an existing Item in your database, select "Yes". Otherwise, to allow for non-unique names, choose "No".

  • permitted_item_submissions
    Example: Yes
If you wish to allow Members to submit new Items to the Item table (subject to evaluation by a Category Editor), select "Yes" for this parameter. If not, the submission links will disappear from the public pages and only the Administrator, and Category Editors with appropriate permissions, will be able to populate Categories.

  • permitted_supplier_association

    Example: optional
This parameter determines whether or not a Supplier Profile should be associated with each Item submitted by members (if members are permitted to submit Items). These are the options and the meaning behind them:

    1. REQUIRED: Member MUST select one of their Supplier Profiles to associate with the Item submission. If they have no Supplier Profiles yet, the member will be forced to create at least one before they can proceed with the Item submission.
    2. OPTIONAL (recommended): he Member may CHOOSE whether or not to add a Supplier association to their Item submission.
    3. FORBIDDEN: The Member CANNOT add a Supplier Profile association to their Item submission. In this case only Admin or an Editor can associate Items with Suppliers.
  • permitted_category_placements
    Example: Yes
If you are accepting Item submissions from Members, toggle this parameter to "Yes" to allow them to place their Items in multiple Categories. If you toggle this parameter to "No", then only you, or the relevant Category Editor, will determine which Categories are associated with a given Item. The value of this parameter does not affect whether or not Members can submit new Items.
  • permitted_category_per_item
    Example: 3
For those members who have permission (see User Table, and the can_populate column) to add their Items to multiple Categories, this parameter represents the maximum number of Categories a given Item can appear in. If more than one Category is permitted per Item, the Member will provide an initial Category association with each submission, but once the Item has been accepted the Member will be able to add the Item to other Categories, or even remove an Item from a Category.

Yellow Page Placements

  • submission_supplier_names_unique

  • Example: Yes
If you wish to ensure that NO newly submitted Suppliers duplicate an existing Supplier in your database, select "Yes". Otherwise, to allow for non-unique names, choose "No".

  • permitted_supplier_submissions
    Example: Yes
Unless you do NOT wish for Members to be able to create Supplier Profiles, toggle this parameter to "Yes". Otherwise, the Add Supplier links will disappear from the public pages and only the Administrator, and Yellow Page Editors with appropriate permissions, will be able to create Suppliers.
  • permitted_yellowpage_placements
    Example: Yes
Toggle this parameter to "Yes" to allow Members to place their own Supplier Profiles on more than a single Yellow Pages (hote, however, that this is subject to individual can_populate permissions found in the User table). Otherwise the Yellow Page placement links will disappear from the public pages and only the Administrator, and Editors with the right permissions, will be able to determine the placement of Suppliers on Yellow Pages.
  • permitted_yellowpage_per_supplier
    Example: 3
This parameter represents the maximum number of Yellow Pages a given Supplier Profile can be attached to by a Member.
  • submission_yellowpage_id
    Example: optional
This parameter determines whether or not a Yellow Page placement should accompany the submission of a Supplier Profile. These are the options and the meaning behind them:
    1. REQUIRED: Member must select a Yellow Page and the submission evaluation is handled by the Editor for that Yellow Page.
    2. OPTIONAL (recommended): If the Member elects NOT to provide a Yellow Page preference the Administrator handles the evaluation. Otherwise the relevant Editor will handle evaluation of the submission.
    3. FORBIDDEN: The submission is NOT accompanied by a Yellow Page selection and the Administrator always handles evaluation of the submission.
  • permitted_supplier_per_member
    Example: 3
This parameter represents the maximum number of Supplier Profiles that a given Member can create.
